New Publication: "The Americanization of Bjorn Winger"

My article about Bjorn Winger appears in the Summer 2024 issue of Minnesota History. Bjorn Winger was a second-generation Norwegian American and graduate of St. Olaf College (Class of 1914) who enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard soon after the U.S. entered World War I in 1917. He spent most of the war stationed at Camp Cody, in Deming, New Mexico, where he edited his regiment's newspaper and contributed more than a dozen original poems.
