Minnehaha Falls

Today was a lovely day for my first visit to Minnehaha Park, originally Minnesota's first state park and now a Minneapolis city park. Peytie and I had a picnic under the beautiful bur oaks near the falls, then walked along Minnehaha Creek down to its confluence with the Mississippi River.

Ah, you make me miss my old neighborhood. Before unexpectedly moving to Northfield, Christopher and I lived at 19th Avenue and 41st St. for 3 years (Julia for 1-1/2). I used to go to Minnehaha Park with Julia and my friend Rachel and her toddler Mathea. They lived just down the street from me and our girls were exactly the same age. We'd bring our jogging strollers for the babies and go on the paths.
